I am, a recent high school grad, going for Computer information Systems
major at the local community college, where I hope to transfer to
someplace before 2 years.
My digital life:
About 5 years ago, I got my first computer of my own, before that my
use was basic word processing and rarely PowerPoints. My first computer
was a used Dell Opti-plex that we got for $50, Pentium 2 I think,
windows XP. Soon after I got it, I'd find stuff I didn't like, like the
arrows on the shortcuts, those pissed me off, so I became a tweaker,
and got really good at fiddling with stuff to make it work, exactly as
I wanted, and finding free (and many open source, but I didn't know
what it was at the time) programs to solve my problems. As a sophomore
in HS I started really getting into computer after being introduced to
linux and open source, from the new school IT guy. Soon after that we
formed a tech club for our school, which starting the next year become
a tablet PC enhanced learning environment. This year, the 3rd for the
tech club, and the 2nd for the school Tablet Pc program, I bought my
own Tablet Pc, a Hp Tx2510US entertainment PC. I've upgraded the hard
drive from the original 250 to 320, partially because it died, and
cause I need more room, for what will soon be a triple or even quad
boot. I use my tablet Pc everyday for school. I take notes, do homework
with it, as well as yearbook, which, after working on it since the
beginning of freshmen year. This year I was editor-in-Chief with
another senior, who was a failure.I do not wish to go into the whole
story, it's long and pathetic. I then had the pleasure of working with
an old friend of mine, who was a sophomore then, to finish the
yearbook, which was all done online. We had many late nights on VOIP
working together to finish it up. For four years yearbook was basically
my life, everything I did revolved around what I had to do for
yearbook, and it was a damn fun experience, and I've come out of it,
with a lot more knowledge of tech and how it will always fail at the
worst possible time, some new skills in graphic arts, but also with a
lot of new friends, who followed me and my friend into the tech club. I
you want more on yearbook, I have a page for that, and Will soon have a
resume and pictures of all the books up. As I learned more I started to
realize how bad windows sucks, and slowly started converting to linux.
I also got into web design, and programming on my own and now use just
about all open source software. Now I do some personal web design, and
clearly blogging, a bit of graphic arts, mostly for myself, but I
revised my school's 50th anniversary logo among other things. I also am
a photographer, but not get the chance to do as much of that, and the
type of photography, as I would like to I've had some experience with
music and video editing, but have a dislike for it. I've build
computers from parts, repair and replaced parts, software, installed
almost every operating system you can think of, with the exception of
Mac. I've become a bit of an expert on windows (and somewhat linux)
data recovery when the OS is screwed up, mostly from fixing my own
mistakes, but it's one of the things I do a few times a week in tech
club too. I am constantly learning now tricks and better ways of doing
stuff, and the ones I discover myself, I post here in hopes of it being
useful to others. I also have an Asus EEE PC 1000HE. 2 gig of ram, 250
GB Hard Drive. And opensuse linux. I'm also the lead dev of a project
called SusEEE, putting Suse Linux on the EEE PC. If you want to see
more of my computers, why not try
this page.
A bit about me personally.
I'm me, and for most of you, that's all you could say about me. I do
have a short temper, and am usually rushing between one of the hundreds
of things I am involved in. I am/was a member of Rebel, an anti-tobacco
group, and highly believe in natural highs, instead of drugs,
cigarettes, and can be found white water rafting and rock climbing
whenever I can, with a group of my friends. I usually have 3 or 4
projects going on at any given time.I've taken up the idea of not
caring, relaxing, and focusing on what I want. It works pretty well.I'm
enjoying myself, doing good in school, getting my personal projects
done and most of all am not all stressed out. I don't have a job, and
am not really looking. Hoping to go into web design at least for a bit,
and maybe IT someday. While i'm Still learning, and really just getting
started at both, I may soon take jobs in web design. A while back I
worked at a library, basically shelving books. Not a bad job. If you
want to know more about me, you can check out my music on
Last.fm or follow me on twitter
twitter to get more of my thoughts, ideas and random ranting.
Anymore, I can be found sitting around one of my laptops,
usually within a few feet of the web server, and almost
always with a tunnel into it. I usually have notepad++
open too. If I'm not at home, i'm either in class, or
sitting around my college, napping on a sofa with my
tablet in hand, or sprawled out on the floor with both
laptops working on whatever popped into my head today.
>My current (big) projects are as follows:

About the Site (TOS, privacy policy, and that junk)
Any of these can change as anytime, without notice, its my site, hosted
in my house at my server, so I have no policies to worry about.
Section 1. Popups I do not put annoying popups on the site
without notice. If a page has a popup (minus the blog, that uses
wordpress and may use popups) It will be noted on there, and be a
click-to-activate popup. The excepton to this rule is firefox
addons/theme/personas/ubiquity commands that i may write. These will
popup a small bar on the top of the screen.
Section 2. IP/personal information Since my server is hosted at
home, I have full access to the logs, and have full right to do
whatever I want with them. I damn well will, but going through them
takes a lot of time. I log IP addressed but will probably never do
anything with them except check for hack attempts. One strike your gone
policy. I see you sniffing around, trying to find admin stuff, or
anything of that sort, your blocked and reported to every agency I can
report you to. I will also encourage my friends to hack you back and
will do so myself. I do use Google Analytics. Thats the only other
information I store or use. The exception is if your part of my domain
and use roundcube or even the gmail interface. But if you have an
account, you know me and I know you so it shouldn't matter.
Section 3. Advirtisng I will not post advirtisements of any sort
on this site as long as its hosted from home under the alpha1beta.com
domain. I will only advirtise if I need money for hosting, domain or
anything else to do with the site. As long as its hosted at home, and I
don't have to contribute to the internet bill, I will never advirtise
on this site.
Section 4 Spam. See the contact page
Section 5. Ownership. Lets make this clear. I own this site, I
own the server. I (for the most part) don't embed content from other
sites. What this means is I can do whatever I want, within the law.
Comments on the blog and guest posts are property of the writer. But I
am allowed to repost them and use them, giving credit, royalty free.
